A Geography of Change
November 19, 2022 @ 12:00 pm - January 15, 2023 @ 5:00 pm
In pulling together four elements under the Title A Geography of Change Roneld Lores and Maxine Farkas wish to encourage a dialogue about the city between artists and residents, between new residents and native born Lowellians, between the generation that grew up in the 20th century and that which knows only the Lowell of the 21st. As you enter the exhibit space you are greeted by select images from the first photographers contributing to the Lowell Photo Archive. Next on view are collages by Maxine Farkas which explore the often messy development of urban landscapes. Selections from Jeff Caplan’s From Tools to Twilight, studies of the last days of McKittrick’s reflects on the passing of a neighborhood institution. Roneld Lores’ installation Erosive Tension speaks to the need for sustainability and the results of urban neglect.
