Lowell Chamber Orchestra – Icons of Virtuosity
April 30 @ 7:30 pm - 9:45 pm
We are closing our third season with a vertiginous program of works that push an orchestra to the limits. Starting with Bartók’s virtuosic setting of folk dances from Romania, we will continue with pianist Pei-Yeh Tsai performing Shostakovich’s first piano concerto. A work by Boston composer Arnold Friedman will start our second half, ending with a performance of Beethoven’s very underrated Symphony No. 4.
