World of Music Series: “Island of Peoples”

The Lowell Chamber Orchestra will perform this dramatic multimedia oratorio, composed in 2019 by Gabriele Vanoni. Island of Peoples is based on stories of immigrants coming to the United States, and it draws inspiration and material from the stories of the Ellis Island Oral Histories. These interviews include stories of struggle, pain, and sadness, but also of joy, love, friendship, and faith.
