This FREE online directory includes profiles for artists and creatives of all disciplines, nonprofit arts and culture organizations, and creative businesses. By creating a profile, Lowell-based creatives, organizations, and businesses will be listed here and on CreativeGround for both local and New England regional visibility and exposure.
Lowell Makes is a volunteer managed 501(c)(3) non-profit community
workshop and laboratory that was founded in 2013 with a simple goal:
to create a space for makers of all kinds to pool resources and talent that builds a community far greater than its constituent parts. We have ever since been an organized group of local artists, engineers, makers, and thinkers who work tirelessly with one another to provide tools and learning resources for the public.
We use these resources to undertake individual and community projects seeking to promote science, technology and the arts; all while working on and experimenting with innovative ideas as to encourage learning within our community.
Our space houses a collection of open workshops and laboratories where members and students can collaborate to learn, share, and hone crafts of all kinds. It provides an environment used for brainstorming, visioning, problem solving, design, prototyping, custom fabrication, repair, and more.
As an organization we are dedicated to providing an inclusive space for Education, Entrepreneurship, and Engagement within the community of Lowell, Massachusetts, and beyond.
At Lowell Makes “Art is the Handmaid of Human Good” is more than just the city’s motto– it serves as a daily reminder of Lowell’s rich industrial and artistic history, the very inspiration for all that we do.
