Paul Carlson, DMA is a concert pianist. He presents solo piano recitals and concertos with orchestras. He is also a collaborative musician, with extensive experience in instrumental and vocal chamber music, choral music, and orchestral music.
He has over forty years of experience teaching piano lessons to students at every level of advancement. He teaches at his loft in Lowell, MA, and at the Lexington Music School in Lexington, MA.
He owns two restored grand pianos, one from 1911, the other from 1876, and also a harpsichord. These instruments allow for the exploration of period-specific aspects of music from those respective historic eras. His experience also includes over thirty years as a church organist. He also has led a period-instrument and vocal Baroque ensemble: “The Peregrine Consort,” currently dormant, but soon to be revived.
He has composed music for chamber orchestra, for small ensemble, and for organ.
