Sacred Circle Dance (SCD) is a growing global development, a form of community and non-religious spirituality featuring communal dances in closed and open circles. Circle dancing is the most ancient dance formation and circle movement has been part of community life in every human culture.
Early humans drummed and danced around a fire, and now we enjoy traditional and modern music for traditional (folk) and new (choreographed) dances. Most dances are basic and simple, but some of us enjoy complex ones.
SCD does not involve any theology or religion: The “sacred” aspect resides in our intention, to create special space, time, and experience for mind-body-spirit equilibrium.
SCD has been my passion since 2000, and I received facilitator/focalizer training in 2013 at the Findhorn Institute, where the modern SCD movement began in the mid-1970s. I truly enjoy leading the dances, and introducing newcomers to this unique activity. I charge no fee for my service, although I accept contributions toward my transportation cost, and I will travel almost anywhere in MA, NH or ME May through December.
