Inspired by the ancient phrase Inter Canem et Lupum-Between Dog and Wolf - this regional juried exhibit explores the space where certainty gives way to ambiguity. Through painting, sculpture, photography, fiber art, ceramics, and mixed media, artists examine the interplay of light and darkness, comfort and tear, and the known versus the unknown. Together, these works invite viewers to embrace transition, question perception, and discover the creative possibilities that emerge when familiar boundaries begin to blur. Between Dog and Wolf will be open Wednesdays-Fridays 12–5:30 PM and weekends 10 AM–3:30 PM, September 30th through November 1st, 2026. Join us for the opening reception on October 3rd from 3–5 PM during Western Avenue Studios & Lofts Open Studios. This show is in conjunction with the 12th Annual Poetry Convergence. Local poets headed by Stephan Anstey create poems in response to the artworks, culminating in a live reading happening from 5 - 7pm following the gallery reception. Open since 2007 our spacious co-op gallery, inside historic Western Ave. mill complex, is home to 30+ artists. Divided into two sections; the front Showcase Gallery features a new, themed show every month and in the Main Gallery, which changes quarterly you will enjoy a diverse selection of original fine art, art-to-wear, handcrafted gift items, jewelry, soap, pottery, prints, greeting cards and so much more! The Loading Dock Gallery is the most eclectic art gallery & high-end gift shop in the Merrimack Valley. Loading Dock Gallery is part of Loading Dock Arts, Inc., a 501(c)(3).
