April is often logged as the soggy friend between the frosty month of spring (March) and the sunny month paving into summer (May). But have you ever considered April to be a month of transitions, as the stems are working through the hard-packed soil to bring you this year’s earliest blossoms, and the geese returning to nest as soon as the ice have melted? What about all the colors before that surge of green—pink and violet and egg-shell yellow, unfurling from winter’s recesses, shifting into a mosaic to last the rest of the year?
It’s as they say: April exhibits bring May exquisites! But let’s not cast April off to the side, which is a wonder in itself.
