December 2025 Mini Grant Recipients

Date Posted: December 10, 2025

Congratulations to the December 2025 recipients of Mosaic Lowell’s Mini Grant Program! Our grant recipients this winter are:

Community Connections of Greater Lowell for the Community Connections Summer Kickoff, an annual free community celebration that will foster leadership in youth volunteers who will take the lead on planning and running a day of art, music, and community building for local residents.

Troy Boykins for From the Streets to the Canvas: A Lowell Artist Docuseries, a docuseries set to feature five local creatives that will highlight their artistic contributions and how it reflects Lowell’s culture.

Kelsey Engvik for Flora and Feathers, a solo exhibition at one of Western Avenue Studio’s mini galleries with plans to unveil itself through delicate, uniquely textured colors in March 2026. Dedicated to the uncommon medium of embroidery, Kelsey aims to expose patrons to a potentially new art craft while conveying a tale “rendered in stitches.”

Refuge Art School for Storytelling Through Dance: Performance and Production, a course that will cultivate performance through students of all levels. In Spring 2026, Refuge’s partner Carolyn McCarthy will both guide and let students co-direct their own choreography and production, and all relevant elements that will culminate into a professionally filmed concept video.

Tyler Theus for The Lowell Film Festival for Future Filmmakers (LFF), a student-run festival that will highlight high school, college, and recently graduated students’ films and projects to the public. Prizes and official distinctions will be offered to stand-out filmmakers, which will grant them a competitive edge in the industry.
