Hispanic Heritage Month, or Latinx Heritage Month, is celebrated annually September 15 – October 15. This is an opportunity to celebrate the vibrant histories, cultures, and contributions of people whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
Below you will find a number of ways to honor and celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month in Lowell.
Visit Public Art
There are a number of murals in Lowell that were created by Hispanic or LatinX artists:

- Otro Rumba by David Zayas
- Chrome Cobito by Bikismo
- Rayo Feliz by Golden
- The Other Me / El Otro Yo / La Otra Ya by Ears
Additionally, Decatur Way is a community partnership incorporating art and environmentally sound building techniques. Several of the pieces of art pay tribute to the Puerto Rican community in Lowell.
