    Bring your gently used books, cds, dvds and puzzles to the Pollard Memorial Library Community room on Saturday October 17 between 9 am and 12 pm. We will resell the books at the Friends of the Library book sale next month November 14 from 9 am - 3 pm to benefit library programs such as museum passes, arts and crafts programing, school vacation activities and summer reading programs. Don't have anything to donate? Come to the sale and support us through your purchase or donation. Every dollar supports programming at the Pollard Memorial (Lowell) Public Library.

    Join me at One Urban Tribe in Lowell, MA, for Nature ROCKS! The opening reception is October 3rd, 5:30pm-7:30pm, and the closing reception is October 24th, 5:30pm-7:30pm. The showing will be hanging in this beautiful crystal shop October 3rd-31st. This body of work brings together five years of exploration in the natural landscape, with a focus on autumn and Earth’s rock formations. I am drawn to nature for its organic colors, shapes, and sense of spiritual ease. Working primarily in acrylic and egg tempera, I build translucent layers to create an ethereal atmosphere. Through intentional brushwork and heightened color, I guide the viewer’s eye while painting not only what I observe, but how I remember and experience the landscape. Intuitive painting from imagination is central to my process. By relying less on photography and more on memory and instinct, I continue to strengthen my visual language and deepen my connection to the natural world.

    Ofrenda is a Dia de los Muertos show with new work by gabriella alejandra aragon Ofrenda The Spanish word for altar, ofrendas are used to celebrate the lives of passed loved ones. Ofrendas are usually decorated with pictures, food, and personal offerings, different for each person, on November 1st and 2nd, also commonly known All Hallows Eve. Come visit the altar at the Storage Closet Gallery on the 2nd Floor of the Lofts at 160 Western Avenue, Lowell 01851. On view now during Open Studios on October 3rd, November 7th and December 5th, or by appointment. Show ends December 20th.

    Are you looking to learn how to play D&D, or looking for a new group to join? Join Heather from Worlds 4 All as she goes over the basics of D&D, and will lead players in lively sessions. All levels are welcome, but we will be starting at Level 1. No previous experience necessary. Registration is highly encouraged, as space is limited. Snacks will always be served! Heather Silva (she/her) is the founder of Worlds 4 All LLC, a creative event service that specializes in professional TTRPG facilitation with an emphasis on co-creating safer and more inclusive spaces. Based in Lawrence, MA, she is also a former school teacher, grassroots community organizer, dancer, and auntie. While Heather may have only found her way to TTRPGs a decade ago, they proved to be a perfect fusion of her love for performing, storytelling, and building meaningful community, so she hasn't stopped playing since!
